Many thanks, Jerri, for taking the time and effort to search out this sad obituary notice
and to post it online. I'm very appreciative! As an avid Chamberlain/lin genealogist
(no relation to this family), I corresponded with Vonnie in particular in 2003 and again
in 2006 - the Email address you have listed for her is the same as I have listed here.
She is identified in the lineage I've created for her family here, as Yvonnie
"Vonnie" Young Ernst or Ernest, born 1936, daughter of Harold Martin Young and
Violet Elizabeth Chamberlin, with younger siblings named Robert Allen Young and Darlene
Kay Young. You may wish to attempt to contact her by mail at her 2003 street address:
4221 Middle Ridge Rd., Newport, PA 17074.
For the benefit of other Chamberlin researchers, John Thomas Chamberlin was born 3
Feb 1893, probably in Sunbury, Northumberland Co., PA, who was married 1913/14 in New
York, to Teresa Virginia Messimer, born 1900, PA, with 1 known child - Violet Elizabeth
Chamberlin (1914-1980) as listed above. John Thomas Chamberlin is the 3rd of 12 children
of William Frederick Chamberlain, born Jan 1867, PA, died 1948, probably Lewistown,
Mifflin Co., PA, and his wife Annie Maria Knepp, born June 1871, died 1958, daughter of
Solomon & Evanna Knepp. This couple, listed in the 1900 census in Sunbury Borough,
Northampton Co., PA, and in the 1930 census in Lewistown, listed their parents as natives
of Pennsylvania. Despite an exhaustive search of census data, primarily in Northumberland
Co., PA (where numerous Chn families resided), I've not been able to trace the
Chamberlin ancestry. Anyone interested in discussing this family in greater detail is
invited to contact me, James B. Pa!
