I am looking to see if anyone has any information on Alfred Hilton
Chamberlin. He was born c. 1890 in Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario and died
June June 21, 1941 In a train accident in Winnipeg, MB. He was married to
Muriell Grawbarger June 6, 1912 in Sudbury, Ontario. One son Benny died of
Pnemonia and Double Pleurisy at the age of 14, a daughter Hannah Fay Vida
died of crib death. A daughter Gloria lives in Vancouver, a son Arthur runs
a lighthouse in BC. My relation Charles Robert (aka Bob) Chamberlin married
Jeanne Marie LeBas and had 5 daughters.
I also know that after Alfred Hilton's death two families tried to collect
the money from it. One was Muriel's family here in Winnipeg and the other
family is unknown to us but apparently was from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
I have heard another story from a family member about our ancestry.
Apparently our first Chamberlin we know of landed at Plymouth Rock and
settled in Salem, Mass. USA. Eventually the family moved to Pennsylvania and
then to Ottawa, Ontario. In Ontario they got involved in politics. I dont'
know what happened from there on. There was a family reunion in Ottawa c.
1985 at a big house with a crater lake and a "mountain". There was a very
large family tree that was posted up on the walls. I was too young to attend
and my family cannot remember anything more about this family.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
