Thank you for a most interesting history on the Chamberlain's of Hull.
There is another child in this family who has escaped the family historians, Jane
Chamberlain ( from whom I descend. (She is my great-great great grandmother), born 19
August 1829 in Old Chelsea Quebec and and married David Bradley.
Nathaniel's wife was Lydia Ferrin, (Ferin, Ferren.)I have a picture of them.
Jane's death certificate indicated that Lydia Ferin was born in Canada, and that her
father Nathaniel was born in the US.
Nathaniel Sr. is apparently recorded as the second person to be buried in the Old Chelsea
cemetery in 1801 although no marker exists, which would suggest that he did make it to
Canada.
I have had no luck finding Lydia's history, although I did find a Lydia born in Maine
in the right time period and there seemed to be family links to Vermont. Clues but no way
to connect the dots.
The records from the records from Old Chelsea and Hull in Quebec are spotty, as the great
fire in 1900 wiped out the local archives of the time.
Best regards,
Susan
