The files of the original Chamberlain Association of America were placed in
storage in the late 1930s or thereabouts. In 1961, they were donated to the
New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, MA. In late 1979-early
1980, they removed and given to a Mrs. Alison Ogilvie (later Mrs. Alison
Ainsworth). The least important items in this huge collection were
eventually deposited with the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society
in New York City. The bulk of this collection containing irreplaceable
original records was either lost or destroyed through the negligence of
Mrs. Alison Ainsworth, who has refused all inquiries regarding this
material since the early 1990s. There was a new association formed by Mrs.
Ainswoth which put out a "newsletter" for several years, but which ceased
about 1993. Today there is still another successor organization, The World
Chamberlain Society,
