Hi Roger,
I'm copying your msg below to the other Chamberlain researchers in case one
of them recognizes your Charles. I have one Charles of about the right age
but know nothing about him. I think Butch Chamberlain posted him. He's a
grandson of William, who is brother to your Elisha (sons of Peleg and Jane
Higgins Chamberlain). However, William's family went to PA so it's not
likely to be the same one.

Fran,
I've come across another Chamberlain that married into my Smith line and
wondered if you might recognize him.
Charles V. Chamberlain was born in 1838 and died in 1914. He is buried in
Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin. He married Lois Isham
who was born in 1848 in Schoharie County, NY and died 8 June 1914 in Sparta,
Monroe County, Wisconsin. They were married prior to 1870.
They had at least two daughters:
Capitola Chamberlain who was born 3 Sept. 1870 at Sparta, Monroe County, WI
and died 5 July 1948 at St. Peter State Hospital, St. Peter, MN. She married
Julius Hoffman 10 June 1890 at Sparta, Monroe County, WI. Julius died prior
to 1948.
Maude Chamberlain was born in 1876. She married Leon Lewis Harrington on 16
Nov. 1898 at Sparta, Monroe County, WI. Leon was born at Sherburus, NY.
Harrington is also a common name in western Schoharie and eastern Otsego
counties.
Would be interested to know where Charles V. Chamberlain was born and who his
parents were. Would be interesting to see his connection to my ggg
grandmother, Luna Chamberlain Smith, Lois Isham Chamberlain's step
grandmother.
Thanks very much and I hope you have a very good 2000!
