I have just started working on the family tree and if anyone has any information on the
following it would be greatly appreciated.
Alexander Chalmers (B 1854) Fraserburgh, Aberdeen, Scotland and Jane Kerr Cumming (B
21/06/1857) Fraserburgh, Aberdeen, Scotland (Parents William S. who was a Mason & Mary
Ann Nee Annand).
Alexander and Jane were married in 1867 in Fraserburgh and had 9 Children as follows:
Alexander - B 10/10/1878 Peterhead
John - B 1880/1881 Approx (he was 3 months old in the 1881 census)
George William Peacock - B 1882/1883 (is showing as infant child on shipping records
1883)
Frederick - B 1885 Approx in Australia
James - B 1888 Approx in Australia
Christina Mary B - 1893 Approx in Australia
Henry - B 1895 Approx in Australia
Thomas - B 06/08/1897 Brisbane Australia
Colin - B 1899 in Australia
They arrived in Australia aboard the Oban Bay who's first port of call as Townsville
Queensland Australia on the 19/07/1883 but I'm not sure if this was the only port of
call.
From what little information I do have I believe that most of the life was spent in or
around the Brisbane area in Queensland as this is where my Grandfather was born as well as
most of his eldest brothers (Alexander) children were born and so on and so on.
I have quite a bit of information on the son Alexander but I am at a loss as to anything
on the rest of the brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.
