My CHALMERS came from Torryburn Fife Scotland to New Zealand in the middle
1800,s They first show up arround Fife in 1600,s I am trying to track them
to their beginnings.

You have down well to get back to the 1600's in Fife. I have my own
back to 1688 also in Fife, but I'm stuck there too! Have a look at the
Rev Chalmers pages on the web site. It goes back to about the 1650's.
