Hi Bonnie,
Sorry not to have replied earlier to yout posting, but I am pretty sure your Chalmers
family were from Alva, Clackmannanshire. From the LDS site:
JOHN CHALMERS
Male Family
Marriages:
Spouse: ANN H. WILLIAMSON Family
Marriage: 16 JAN 1860 Tillicoultry, Clackmannan, Scotland
(note the middle initial in Ann's name - like your census record). The H was for
Henderson - look at the LDS records in detail for that.
Their children:
1. JOHN WILLIAMSON CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 24 JUN 1867 Alva, Stirling, Scotland
2. CATHERINE CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 04 NOV 1864 Alva, Stirling, Scotland
3. JAMES CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 24 MAR 1860 Alva, Stirling, Scotland
4. ELIZABETH CAMERON CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 07 JAN 1862 Alva, Stirling, Scotland
5. David CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Death: 08 SEP 1949
6. David CHALMERS - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Marriage: 02 NOV 1844 Alva, , , Scotland
I am not connected with this line, but I used to live just 3 miles from Alva (which is
right in the middle of Scotland close to Stirling), and my aunt lived in Tillicoultry for
most of her life.
Alva was once had a thriving woollen industry, so again, with John's connections I am
pretty sure this is your family.
John Gibson Chalmers
