Hello all,
On an 1866 Aberdeen, Scotland death ceritifcate, the informant is given as Isabella
CHALMERS, Warrack/Warwick(?) Villas, Meadowhill, London. I am trying to find the
connection between these two women. And also, the [Chalmers] families in Banffshire,
Scotland and those in London. My gg gdf came from Scotland to London, I'm assuming to
family? He there married a girl from St Clement Danes, the Strand in 1869.
The woman in Scotland was Mary BROWN (b abt 1791) married ANDREW CHALMERS on 10 Nov 1811
in Alvah, Banff, Scotland (had at least 10 chilldren) and died 19 Apr 1866 in Aberdeen.
Her parents were given as ALEXANDER BROWN and ANN GOODBRAND, apparently by this Isabella
Chalmers. Mary was a Chalmers only by marriage, was Isabella ? Was she possibly an
unmarried daughter, Isobel b 1818 Boyndie, Banff, Scotland? Or the wife of a presently
unknown Chalmers?
BTW, is any one else having difficulty with all these UK "district",
"parish", "Census place"... address choices? For example,
21 Vere Street, St. Clement Danes, the Strand?, London? Westminister? Middlesex?
AND
51 Devonshire Street, St. George The Martyr, Finsbury, London, Middlesex....
How do you know the proper GRO district or the Census place? Sorry, everyone, perhaps
just wee bit o frustration overload...
Thank you all for your patience and consideration, H.
