Re: Nathan Challis' wife, I think her name was Caroline McArthur, born May 1825 in NY
- maybe Holland. Something is not quite right with the records I find on Family
Search...it says Caroline was born on 22 June 1832 and married Nathan about 1845, which
would make her 13 - and some of the children are born before that, which is of course not
impossible, but would have her giving birth before the age of 13. The birth date of 1825
makes more sense... I am also trying to find the links between Nathan and Enos Challis,
who fought in the Revolutionary War. He served as a sgt. in New Hampshire on November 15,
1752 and died on February 6, 1815. He is buried in Humphrey Cemetery, Holland NY. Enos is
my ancestor and Nathan was my gggrandfather. Of Nathan's children, Delilah
(1850-1941)married William Bucknam and Viola (1852-1922) married Franklin Pierce Rice.
Both couples are buried in the Holland Cemetery, Holland, Erie, NY. Can anyone clarify any
of the above?
