Listers,
Having changed my email address I thought that I should post my
interests again. Unfortunately my research hasn't really progressed.
a) Still looking for Joseph CHALLENGER born in Bath c.1800. There are
two possible baptisms at St Swithin, Walcot in 1796:-
1) Joseph son of Isaac & Rachel
2) Joseph son of Thomas & Anne.
(In fact there are three, but one died in infancy.)
Would like to hear from anyone claiming either of these as their
ancestor, if only to eliminate them from my line.
His American descendants were led to believe that Joseph is descended
from Samuel CHALLENGER of Wales. Can anyone add to that?
b) Still looking for Joseph CHALLENGER's marriage to Emma HORN, perhaps
in the Islington area c.1824. (Not in St Pancras church or St Mary's.)
c) Still looking for Joseph CHALLENGER's death around 1853 - 1856
perhaps near Regent's Park. (Not in St Pancras churchyard before 1854 or
St Pancras or Islington Cemeteries 1854 - 1857.)
Thanks,
Judith Wildsmith.
