Keiley,
I believe Samuel (b at Farmborough, bap 22 Nov 1772 at Clutton) was a son of
Samuel Challinger (or whatever spelling was in vogue at the time of his
baptism) and Cornelia Parfitt. There are plenty of members of the Clutton
Challenger family with info on the www and as Challenger listers, so I will
leave it to them to provide further details (and/or look at Caroline
Saunders' Rootsweb tree).
After years of research, I have been unable to prove membership of that
family for my ancestor Job Challenger, married for the second time (at
least) on 31 Oct 1784 at St George (nr Bristol), Glocs, residing in
Bedminster during following ten years or so, and probably buried 03 Oct 1796
at Lyncombe and Widcomb, Bath. His family also subsequently had Nailsea,
and later, Winford, connections. As I have found no Job Challenor /
Challenger baptisms other than the one at Chelwood (Clutton) ca 1743 - and
my ancestor clearly is NOT him - I have looked further afield. It is
possible of course he was not baptised or amended his forename, but there
must be an earlier marriage for him somewhere.
Job Challenor / Chandler bap 07 Jun 1742 at Crowle, Worcs., is a possibility
as I cannot find what happened to him. Can anbody help with him, or is that
too far outside the remit of this list?

Hi Nigel
Thank you ever so much for that! I will have to email Bristol RO to see
if they can send me a copy of the marriage.
Thanks again Keiley
