Keiley,
The marriage you seek was at Bristol, St Mary Redcliff, 03 Sep 1827. She is
recorded as Mary Challenger. Both are otp. Sorry, don't have the witness
names.
Good luck = Nigel McCarthy

Subject: [CHALLENGER] Challinger/Challengers in Twerton
Hi
I have not long discovered my link to the Challinger/Challenger family.
My 4 x great grandmother was Anna Maria Challinger b1805 Twerton, sadly
I cant find a marriage certificate for her and my 4 x great grandfather
Charles Pocock. However, I have found a marriage certificate for her
second marriage to Samuel Tanner. On the certificate 1855 she is aged
50 and gives her fathers name as Samuel Challinger (deceased) occ Well
Sinker. I transcribed Twertons St Micheals & All Angels baptisms and
marriages for freereg so I have a copy of the transcripts upto 1812. I
also visited Bath Record Office earlier in the year. I have found a
marriage for a Samuel Challinger and Martha Rose 1795. I have also
found baptisms for the following children of Samuel & Martha: Cornelius
1797, Anna Maria 1799, Mary Ann 1799, Samuel 1801, Joseph 1803, Anna
Maria 1805 (my 4 x great grandmother) and George Challinger 1807.
I have also found a baptism for a base born child called Alfred Charles
William Challenger mothers name Anna Maria baptised 1st Oct 1824
My 4 x great grandmother Anna Maria appears to have dropped the Anna
part of her name around 1831(ish) as on all of her childrens baptisms
after this date her name is recorded as Maria.
Hoping to find a connection.
Keiley
(my apologies if this gets listed twice but I accidently sent a copy
from my work email)
