I noticed that according to one website, Benjamin Challenger (the root of the oldest tree
of many of us) also spelled his name Chaloner.
I did a little searching and found:
There was a Benjamin Chaloner (about 1736) + Ann Lockier (married 27 Dec 1761) listed as
being in Clutton, per
familysearch.org.
I also note that someone has done a lot of work on The Chaloner family, with a tree that
looks like:
1740: Anne Chaloner + Edward Laschelles
d/o
6/29/1714 William Chaloner + Mary Finney
s/o
6/12/1683 Edward Chaloner + Ann Boles
s/o
William Chaloner + H. Fowlis (sister of Anne Chaloner, 1654)
s/o
1625 Edward + Ann Ingoldsby
s/o
Rev. Edward + Elizaeth Hovenden sister of Anne Chaloner abt 1606, Arthur Chaloner abt
3Aug1596
s/o
1565 - Nov 18, 1615 Thomas Chaloner + Elizabeth Fleetwood
s/o
Thomas Chaloner + Etheldreda and + Judith Blount
(I may not have copied everything exactly right, but I haven't really worked too hard
on it yet).
In any event, it appears that *IF* Benjamin fit into this tree, he would fit as a sister
to Willam and Anne
I just don't know if any of this is even possible, but it is a cold day with lots of
ice, and I didn't have much else to do. :-D
Anyone that can check on Benjamin Chaloner in Clutton - that might be a place to
start....
