Hi Ruth,
Thanks for this - I didn't have the 1841 entry.
Mary Ann was my gggf's oldest and only sister, born Mary Ann Tucker in 1784
in Midsomer Norton. Her parents were Thomas Tucker and Jane Challenger
(daughter of the "famous" William and Martha).
Mary Ann married Benjamin Challenger in 1809 in Temple church, Bristol. His
parents were Edmond and Betty. I assume Ben and Mary Ann were related to
each other but I don't know the exact relationship.
I seem to have made an incorrect entry on my family tree files - I think
Benjamin died in 1839?
Mary Ann is still living in 1871, at age 86, with her brother Moses (my
gggf) in Clutton.
I have children of Mary Ann and Benjamin as: Benjamin 1809 (married Grace
Rogers), Ann 1812 (married James Simmons), Jonas 1815, Thomas Tucker 1817,
Martha 1820, James 1822 and George 1827 (maried Hannah Tippett)
I hope these are correct.
cheers
Marion

Subject: [CHALLENGER] Benjamin Challenger lived next door to his mother....
1841 Benjamin Challenger aged 31 coal miner born Clutton in census
of
Clutton with wife Grace Challenger aged 30 born Clutton and
children
Ellen Challenger aged 4 and Martha Challenger aged 2 both
born
Clutton
next door to Mary Ann Challenger aged 56 born Midsomer Norton
and
James
Challenger aged 18 born Clutton.
At least the dates work out that the Mary Ann Challenger Benjamin lived
next door
to was his mother, and James his brother.....
