It is a great book.
Higginson.com will print anyone a copy by the way,
hardcover or softcover. It also appears in a lot of libraries, in New
England at least. However that said, this book does only cover one line of
Chaffin's. There appear to be two distinct lines in the country, one
beginning in Massachusetts and the other I believe in Virginia. To my
knowledge noone has difinitively linked the two. I think everyone should
request a lookup of someone prior to 1900 in their line before buying a
copy for themselves. I also have a copy and will do lookups any time.
I am part of the family in this book - Guess that makes us cousins! My
grandfather Linwood Libby Chaffin. Who is your grandmother?

History of Robert Chaffin and his descendants 1912. and of the other
Chaffins in America. By William L. Chaffin. I found my copy at Barnes and
Noble on the web. It was sent to our local store in Austin. Paper back was
abt. $59, Hard cover was abt. $65. I found everything I needed up until my
Grandmother was born in 1897. I can look up Chaffin's and e-mail info, but
I recommand every Chaffin to Buy The Book.
