Hi, Kaye
I am related to new zealand branches. Coming from Ebenezer to Henry Fox Chaffey of asphalt
cottage among others. Also to the canadian, usa, and australia. I would be interested in
where in england ur line came from. As to info from ralph I don't recall him sending
me anything although there are ralph's in our line. I am unfamiliar with the Royal
Velvet scrolls nor the maori connection, but am interested in the information so I can try
to connect our sides. My line william tamlin chaffey, brother of ebenezer. And we migrated
from england to usa in the 1800s. But other family members went to canada, new zealand and
australia. Would love to compare and attach lines. Sincerely samuel reed chaffey

My name is Kaye Brotherton (nee Wilkie). My mother was Mona Ellen Chaffey
daughter of George and Annie Chaffey (nee Forrester) of New Zealand. I
found your site in 2011 and sent it to Ralph Byrne who is my cousin's
husband. He told me he had filled you in on the missing 200 years. Ralph
has an extensive family tree on my lineage from New Zealand back to
England, our tree is documented on the Royal Velvet Scrolls. I have not
personally seen these but my mother had in the 70's, one of her Uncles ran
away with them but surely there will be copies somewhere.
Anyway on
tribalpages.com you will see our extensive Chaffey Family and yes
we are all linked through South Australia and Canada. My mother had told
me one brother went to Canada, one to South Australia and the other to New
Zealand to seek their fortunes.
The book "All the Rivers Run" mentions the Chaffeys doing the irrigation
down the Murray River and also the paddle steamers etc.
There seems to be many coverups which I myself am trying to discover. I
have been hacked by who knows and names extracted from my Chaffey lineage,
obviously because of the royal line I believe, or perhaps because of the
maori lines here.
It would be wonderful to hear from someone in regards to our extensive
family, I am sure we have plenty to contribute from New Zealand.
Kaye Brotherton
