Lisa, I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I was referring to
Bristol, England. I do note that most of the people who post on these
rootsweb surname mailing lists (I'm on 4 or 5) are looking for US ancestors
in the first case (obviously a few more generations back and they'll be back
in 'the old country'!) and I wonder why that is. Thanks for any help! Jan
