Hello listers. I am new to this list and posting what I have: Samuel POPE age 34, (b
1836) Labourer, married Ann CHADWICK age 27 (b 1843) in the Wesleyan Chapel (Wesleyan
Methodist) Widnes, Lancs. June 7th 1870 Both gave their place of residence at time of
marriage as Halebank, Halewood. Father of bride was James CHADWICK.Witnesses: John Knowles
Rigby Margaret CHADWICK (maybe bride's mother?) On the 1881 Census
they were living at 78, Oakland St, Widnes. Samuel POPE head M 45 general labourer, born
Alvaney, Cheshire.Ann (Chadwick) POPE wife M age 38 born, Speke, Lancs They had three
children: James b 1872 Hale, Lancs Elizabeth b 1874
Hale, Lancs Samuel b 1877 Widnes, Lancs They are all
at the same address in 1891 census but Samuel gives his birthplace as Helsby, Cheshire. on
the 1901 census, at 35 Mersey Rd Widnes, Ann (Chadwick) Pope is a widow 58 listed as the
'proprietor of !
a cookshop' aided by her daughter Elizabeth now 27.James is married and living next
door, Samuel is still living at home and will marry in a few years. So James CHADWICK and
Margaret(?) CHADWICK, were probably married before 1843.( in Speke?) However, there may
have been other siblings ofAnn CHADWICK B 1843. Jean
