Greetings Peter,
We have never been able to determine who the parents of our James Chadwick
were. In the 1841 census James CHADWICK (35) , Elizabeth (GOULDING) (30) and
family were living in Macclesfield-East, enumeration district 15. Living next
door were the GOULDING's, James and Ellen and family. Since James and
Elizabeth were married at St. Peter, Prestbury, Cheshire 23 Dec 1827, one
possibility is Jas and Mary who had a son, Jas, Christened 18 Sept. 1803 at Prestbury,
Cheshire, England. Problem is we have him born (8 Jan) in 1806 as does the
census. Their daughter Harriet was married at St. Mary, Astbury in 1851. She
was living in Congleton at the time. Her husband was living in Buglawton. Soon
after, all but the oldest daughter came to America. James was listed as an
Engineer on his two daughters marriage licenses.
Kind Regards

Dear Ron,
Thanks for your e-mail.
It becomes more coincidental. You may or may not know that Buglawton is
on the outskirts of Congleton and my grandfather and Grandmother (nee
Newton) lived there.
Regards
Peter Chadwick
