Yesterday's puzzle has been ID'd as members of the 124. SIMEON
branch. Thanks to Maura Amrich, Deborah Chadbourne, Editor of
"The Chadbourne Family in America: A Genealogy", currently working
on additions and corrections, has now added Paul [H] Boynton to our
Chadbourne Family Assoc. (CFA) records, under his mother.
Note that there is a 26,000 name index which would be likely to
help with the following query. Also the CFA has Archives and
the website
http://www.chadbourne.org contains .
This family was quickly found on page 159 by looking under
BOYNTON in the every-name index. Had we searched for Mary
Chadbourne (of whom there are many) the inclusion of birth year
in that index could have speeded either a book or a CD search,
A portion of what we published earlier in our book and CD-ROM ^:
"(Paul H. b MA May 1883 and Russell, b MA Aug.1888" were cited
in 1900 census as "grandsons" of Mary E. P.[Plummer?] Chadbourne
and her husband Eleazer BOYNTON, a Mass.State Representative
and Senator. That couple are buried in the Chadbourne cemetery in
Lyman, Maine, known in part for a tombstone shaped like a house.
Mary's parents were # 124. SIMEON (7th gen.) Chadbourne of
Lyman, Maine and his wife Sally Plummer of Sanford, Maine.
My wife Kitty and I visited that cemetery with Simeon-branch
descendants John and Nancy MINOR. (We were recently
saddened to learn that John lost Nancy to a premature death.)
SHARING old family PHOTOGRAPHS, to be identified by what's
written on the back of other or similar prints, such as at a REUNION
would be a wonderful thing to do. We may also find photographs
in our book relevant to the family described yesterday.
