This note is meant for descendants of the Goodwins, Spencers and
Chadbourne of the Kittery/Berwick area of MAINE.
This is a REMINDER of a meeting of the above families at 2 PM today,
Saturday, at the Counting House of the Old Berwick Historical Society in
South Berwick, Maine, beside the Rt. 4 bridge between Maine and NH. It
will be followed at 4 by a tutorial on use of the CD-ROM "The Chadbourne
Family in America" which includes the first several generations of
Spencers and Goodwins in Maine, described in the CD link at
http://www.chadbourne.org, where . . .
NOTE the first four generations can be searched ^ this week without
the password used by CFA members. An every-name index of 26,000 names
in the book of same title is also at that website now, but remember
these are only people with roots in Maine.
Lunch will be available on the second floor of Fogarty's Restaurant
today, Saturday between noon and two, on 2nd FLOOR, Main St, South
Berwick, ME (207) 384-8361. This is about 0.4 miles NW of (center of
South Berwick at bend in Rt. 4), just before then next bridge to NH
upstream from the Rt. 4 bridge. For information today only, and about
this meeting only you may try cell phone 207-829-6384 or SFC Club below,
1-800-734-1616 or 207-929-5233. Arlene Verity is the Reunion Chair.
For the evening meal we'll adjourn to the Salmon Falls Country Club in
Hollis Maine, two miles up the west side of the Saco River from US Route
202. That's maybe 40 minutes further east and will be the location of
tomorrow's meeting (Sunday) which includes a talk by regional historian
Joseph Wm. Pepperrell Frost and a presentation to the family of our
recently deceased genealogist, Elaine Chadbourne Bacon, whose is
memorialized also at
http://www.kmrco.com/chadbourne/ElaineCB.html.
(
http://www.kmrco.com/chadbourne.index.html is cleaner, simpler
Chadbourne website but lacks the book index and most early
generations.). There's also a Chadbourne family section at
www.MyFamily.com for calendar events, etc. ~ Ted Chadbourne
