COMING EVENTS (now including CFA's REUNION OCT.19-20
and OLD BERWICK HISTORICAL SOCIETY PROGRAMS) may
now be found at
http://www.chadbourne.org 's "Coming Events" link.
Most of our website re-directs to our complimentary host
"Maine Today" but there the Excavation link re-directs to:
http://www.salemstate.edu/%7Eebaker/chadbourne.htm
which is part of the website of Emerson "Tad" Baker, PhD.
who leads these excavations. That site includes:
"NEW!! Excavations Dates Set for 2002 - Want to Volunteer?
Excavation Dates: August 10-16, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM *
Laboratory Dates: August 19-23, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM"
* This is the eighth year of excavation in South Berwick ME of the 1634-1690
(until burned by "Indians") home of both Humphrey Chadbourne father&son,
our
2nd and 3rd generation in America.
*** While at Tad's site (above), don't miss "Chad. Humor" ***
Note also on Dr. Baker's "salemstate.org" sites that the extensive
collection of PHOTOS OF ARTIFACTS can be ENLARGED one-at-a-time by clicking
on the image initially displayed. (PS to Dan Quayle: Shouldn't that be
photoes"?)
2. Also note substantial upgrades to our website
http://www.chadbourne.org
since 'it was taken over by our new webmaster, CFA member Herbie Geiler.
Thanks, Herbie! Good job!
At least until a June 30 DIRECTORS' Meeting, password protection of our
FIFTH and SIXTH generations (always available to CFA members) has been
removed. This Chadbourne-List, to which you subscribed, is the first
announcement of that availability).
From the Fifth Generation up, all households carry the name Chadb*rn?
(where
* = any char.s, ? = one. i.e. "e" or none. Those terms are also
useful for
variant spelling wherever these characters * and ? are supported.)
Remember that GOODWIN and SPENCER descents contain within our Fourth
Generation their children and grandchildren. i.e. Chadbourne 4th Gen.
contains Spencer generations 3-5 and Goodwin-desc. gen.s 2-4 - this because
of our great effort to trace daughter of daughters of daughters in the early
generations.
