"Welcome to new subscribers to Chadbourne-L(a)rootsweb.com, a
fast-track mailing list for questions, information-sharing, discussion
among the many thousands living who have Chadbourne ancestry,
including news from the Chadbourne Family Association (CFA), e.g.:
NOTE: Annual Dr.Tad Baker lecture on the excavation of our ancestral
home burned by Indians 1690, Thur. Oct. 24, 2002, So. Berwick, ME
at the Old Berwick Historical Society's "Counting House", at the Rt. 4
intersection with Liberty Street just before bridge to New Hampshire.
Newly elected officers will be reported here within days, including
President Howard Kaepplein and Genealogist Toby Hurley of Utah.
Strengthening our best-early-coverage of Berwick female lines, our
Genealogical Research Comm. now include Gay SPENCER on Spencer
and Herbie Geiler on GOODWIN lines. (11 or our 12 CFA officers
are now from female lines, including my goodwife Kitty, who got a
Chadbourne surname back by marrying our last Chadbourne-named
officer. And, say, some family assoc.s think only male lines count!)
A sixteen-page NEWSLETTER edited by Kitty Chadbourne was mailed
by Jack and Nancy Chadbourne. Dues reminders, $10, were enclosed
for those not Life Members. Our mailing labels show your expiration
date (sorry 'bout that <grin>) as well as your ID# in our (sold-out)
book and on that great CD-ROM, your family branch with the name of
your sixth-generation Chadbourne ancestor (that's where we divided
branches. About 23 are Chadbourne-name households, plus many
other descendants of Thos. SPENCER & Dan'l GOODWIN in 4 gen.s.
That 35th issue of that "Pied Cow" (not counting the irregular "Pied
Calf") included details of our October 19-20 ANNUAL REUNION in
Portsmouth NH and South Berwick, Maine. The mailing was by
first class mail since this double issue was the first of this year.
