While it may be assumed by many that the above are descendants of Daniel
1 Goodwin, Thomas 1 Spencer and William 1 Chadbourne, the Chadbourne
Family Association (CFA) in treating daughters of daughters of daughters
stops at the sixth Chadbourne generation which is the fourth named
Goodwin. Although I suspect there were more Chadbournes named Goodwin
than named Chadbourne by the fifth Chadbourne Generation*, for the
recent men above (what's a century plus?) The Goodwin Family
Organization (GFO) may be a better source of linkage back to those
immigrants, and if so, may identify itself to newcomers on this list.
* My untested theory (more Chadbournes are named Goodwin) may be proven
or disproved by examining the fourth and fifth generations in the
sold-out book to be seen at libraries found at
http://mainetoday.koz.com/maine/cfalibrarylist. The new improved CD
version (which may include a new free membership in CFA until June 30,
is described at
http://mainetoday.koz.com/maine/cfacdrom.
Some named Chadbourne have attended the last two meetings of the Goodwin
Family Org. in South Berwick Maine, The CFA, which already has a large
number of Goodwin-descendant members, INVITES any GOODWINS and other
descendants of the men in the second paragraph above, or those who feel
they may be, to its next annual meeting, in the South Berwick area,
SUN., OCT. 14th !
