The CFA's new PRINT SUPPLEMENT, now at the printers, has over
400 pages of additions and corrections to the sold-out 1994 book,
"The Chadbourne Family in America: A Genealogy". Note this one
could sell out even faster, since only 250 copies are to be printed
vs. 500 copies of the highly-praised original.
Your cost would be $15 (U.S.$) plus $2 for S+H ($5 S+H for very
fast delivery intended for Christmas giving). Your check would
be mailed to Howard Kaepplein, 33 Jacobs Gate Road, Harvard,
Mass. 01451, whose phone is 978-456-3637.
If you wish to join
the Chadbourne Family Association or if $10 dues haven't been
paid through June 30, 2005, such payment might earn priority
if there's not enough supply for the demand. (In my view, one
who lacks the original book would not need the supplement.
(There are no plans to re-print the '94 book, but if you know one
who'd like to sell a copy, we may have a customer for her or him.)
As you know we have a CD version produced in the year 2000,
which contains perhaps no more than half the additions and
corrections in this new print supplement (a hard-cover book
generally matching the original, with gold print on dark brown).
Plans have not been made for when the CD may be updated, so
the two-book combination is likely the best data for next few yrs.
Compiler & Editor of the supplement was Deborah Chadbourne,
a Boston architect who worked closely with Elaine C. Bacon,
Compiler of the earlier book. Deb was assisted by many,
including our fine CFA Genealogist Ms. Toby Hurley. Contact
information is at the Chadbourne website, listed below.
If you use our book in a library, do you wish to give one to them?
or only to family members who are interested in family history?
If you know others who have the Chadbourne book, please confirm
they know of this supplement, since we don't know the current
address of all who bought or were given the original book.
NOTES If you reply to Chadbourne-List or to an individual, please
DELETE most or all of any FULL quoteback, to keep the Boards and
Lists efficient. But it's fine to quote back a portion you wish to discus.
