Hello All!
I've been rummaging through census images in the past
few days and realized that although I had the
"answers" - I had no idea what the question was. For
instance in the 1900 census it asks - for the wife or
mother of the house - how many children has she had,
and then it asks how many are living as of the day the
census is taken. I had one woman as having 6 and then
3, and, not knowing what that meant, I did my best to
sharpen the image and turn it sideways. I got to
thinking there HAS got to be a better way of figuring
out what was asked. So, I googled around and came up
with the following URL over at
Ancestry.com:
http://www.ancestry.com/save/charts/census.htm
It's free and in adobe acrobat and READABLE! :)
Why did I try to reinvent the wheel? LOL
I hope, that in passing this on to you all, that
someone out there will benefit from my frustration. :)
Take Care and Happy Census Hunting!
