I am going to be very sad that I don't have my Center/Centers/Senters puzzle
untangled in time for you to include in your book.....just when do you
expect to publish?
Do you, as others do, think the father of my James b. abt. 1823 m. 1st to
Nancy Bryant 2nd to Sarah Ann Abney/Abner was Solomon Sr.? I hope you don't
because I just have this feeling this is not correct.
I can't prove it....but something keeps telling me that isn't right.
James joined the 8th KY Vol Inf co. K, along with two other Senters
mens.....18 year old Wm. T. Senters from Breathitt Co., and John Senters
Jr. son of John Senters Sr. and Zerilda/Serilda Hensley Senters (she was
dau. of Fielding Hensley)....all of them joined at Estill Springs, Estill
Co. It just seems so significant....yet Zerilda and John Senter Sr. give
their children's birthdates as : John Jr. about 1840 because he was 21 when
he joined the army; then sister Sarah about 1841, brother Powell about 1843;
sister Susan about 1852, brother Nelson about 1856 and a baby was born on
the very day John Jr. died...baby Sam b. June 7, 1863. This baby must have
died because his name is crossed out.
So I don't think "my" James is a son of theirs and wondered if he could be
a
brother to John Sr.
And the 18 year old from Breathitt, William T., could be my James' nephew?
I am working hard to try and unravel this....marilyn

The William Center to whom you refer (I have him as William J.
Center) was
the son of Solomon Center, Jr. and Mary Osborne. Solomon, Jr. was the son
of
Solomon Center Sr. and Nancy Bell. This William was born 24 April
1860 and
died May, 1933. He was married to Esther Brewer (b. 3 Jan 1862 d. 18 Oct.
1911. The physician Taylor Center was William Taylor Center, the son of
John
Thomas Center, son of George Center, son of Solomon Center, Sr. All
of
this
will be in my forthcoming CENTER book. Hope this helps.
