Sharon Taylor:
Thank you for responding. To answer your question, do I know the father of
Nathan Center, died 1783, S.C, No, I do not. In the History of Richland
County, South Carolina, is says that he came to that state from Virginia
about twenty years before the Revolutionary War, which would have been c.
1756. I have checked some Virginia records but have not come up with
anything that is remotely possible. I think the key will be the land
records in the archives at Columbia, S.C, in trying to establish the name of
his father or at least a shopping list.
Currently, I have a request in to them which has been turned over to a
researcher, hopefully, they will come up with SOMETHING.
Will let everyone know if anything developes. I am very interested in you
number 1 entry, Samuel, born in 1759, in DeKalb County GA.

Do you happen to have any idea who Nathan's father was? I am trying to
research the children of Jonathan Senter/Sentell who died 1799 Edgefield
Co,
SC, in the hopes of finding a connection to the Center/Centers family
of
Allen Co KY His children were:
1) Samuel b@ 1759 d. Dekalb Co. GA m. Nancy Stephens . Their children:
William, Nathan, Elizabeth, Samuel, John, Sarah, Britan, Hetty, Martion,
Nancy.
2) William b@ 1760 d. Henderson Co NC m. Elizabeth Stephen. Their
Children:
Nancy, John, Samuel, Guilford,
3) Elizabeth b@ 1772 m. unknown Clark
4) Starling b@1774 d. SC m. Mary unknown. Their children: 6 older
children
names unknown, Sarah, Martha, Mary, Adeline )
5) Sarah b@1776
6) Jonathan/John b@1778 m. Julia unknown. Their children: unknown.
Possibly
Edwin b.@1812. Found in the 1850 Dekalb Co GA census
Willis Center of Allen Co KY b.@1786 NC. Children: Starling b@1810 SC,
Lucy ,
Levi, Ann, Guilford, Mary, Moses, Elizabeth, Martha, and one unknown
male
child. Notice the names of Guilford & Starling between Willis's children
and
descendants of Johnathan Sentell.
It is possible that the Nathan son Britton of Montgomery Co KY are also
part
of Johnathan Sentell's clan.
Don't ask me why, but in the SC & VA records the names Sentell & Senter
are
intertwined for the same family.
