I am interested in any Solomon Center that might surface. Nathan Center,
[son of John, son of Nathan d. 1784 S.C.) of DeKalb County GA and his wife,
Mary, had a son by this name. In a letter dated 1854, he says his son,
Solomon had gone to Louisiana. However, I could not find him there, so
presume he didn't stay.

It is interesting to note that the name Nathan and Nat are also here
in
the
KY Centers/Senters family.
I have found a Nathan Centers, son of Cager Centers and Eula Heath, who
was
born in 1918, died 1983 in McCracken co. KY.
A Nat Centers born to Berry (Asberry) Centers about 1883, who married
Paulina Powell, and who died in 1971.
A Nath Centers were died in a Bell co. KY mine explosion on Christmas Eve
in
1945, and who was born 1883.
So there may be some kind of connection to "my" Centers folks back
somewhere. Nat or Nathan is not a common name.
I have traced my line to Stephen Senters or Centers b. about 1784....who
married a Polly Johnson/Jonson in Surry co. NC in 1814....by 1850, he was
in
Montgomery co. KY, was 66, wife must have died between 1844and 1850
(we
found copy of deed giving over his property to son James), and with him is
his young son, Brittain (sometimes spelled Briton, Britton) age 13. My
ancestor is the son James (b. 1823)....and we believe there was a daughter
Caroline b. 1835. I have no proof, but think John was also a son (he was
married to Serrilda or Zerilda Hensley).
Our James served in the 8th KY Vol. INf. Regt. and was to die in 1873 as
a
result of poor health from the war.
Many had thought Solomon Senters/Centers was James' father....but since we
found the deed, we believe Stephen to be his father.
Well....I've rambled long enough.........just thought it interesting that
I
found so many Nathans and Nats here in KY....Marilyn

John Center and Julia/Juliette, it appears that John and his brother,
William, removed from South Carolina to DeKalb County, Georgia when they
reached maturity; his son, Nathan Center and Mary, last name unknown,
Lithonia, GA; his son, James W. Center and Mary Ann Eddington, he was a
carpenter and they lived at Cedartown, GA, before the Civil War, he was
killed at the Battle of Devil's Den at Gettysburg--his wife and sons were
on the 1880 census in Ringold, Catoosa County, GA, after which time they
relocated to Sebastian and Scott Counties in Arkansas, James W and Mary
Ann
had two son, John Edwin and Thomas Jesse Center. John Edwin Center
married
an Oldham and after living at Greenwood, Arkansas for a short time,
he
also
moved to Scott County, Arkansas near his brother Thomas Jesse
