Jessie,
Then name Center/Centers/Centre is used interchangeably depending on who was
writing the information it looks like to me. Senter etc. is used also. I
haven't found Nathan married prior to his marriage to Martha Taylor but I
agree, it could be possible. One late curious note... a researcher listed
the birth of their son John in Conn. b. ca 1778. I am trying to connect
Nathan's service to the Am Revolution as commissary with James Taylor to
this Conn. link. I am assuming that they lived there during the war for his
tour of duty? all the other children are listed as born in SC. All I have
found is that he came from VA & owned land on which Columbia SC was built.
I'll be glad to share!
Rosemary

Looking for Nathan Center born about 1715 in Camden Dist., SC. Died Jan.
1783,
Camden Dist. SC.
Married Martha Taylor who was born about 1750 and died Jan. 13, 1816.
They had children William, Elizabeth (b. abt. 1775), Nathan Jr.(b. abt.
1777), and John (b. abt 1778).
I’m curious to know if Nathan was married before. He was certainly
old
enough to have been.
And, I show his children’s names have changed to Centers.
Thank you for any information you can provide.
Jessie
