Hi Everyone,
There won't be any uploads this week as I was called out of
town by a family emergency and didn't get to take anything
with me to work on to upload. So I spent my time along
with Christine and we updated the state Table of Contents
(TOCs) at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/states.htm so
please look around.
We did the following:
1. Added links to the new 1930 census pages. NOTE: Only
the states that begin with A have the correct roll numbers
and enumeration districts. These will be added over the
next months. If anyone knows html and has time we will
be glad to give you the tools to help us get this completed.
If you have time, just drop me an email.
2. Added 2nd transcription (proofreader) columns to the
pages. These will be filled in as time permits. If you see
something that's incorrect please email me and we'll get
it adjusted properly. What this means is when someone
signs up to do a second transcription we can list them on
the web pages. Also we will only sign someone up to do
a second transcription if a first transcription is completed
or in process. Would the SCCs please check their pages
and let us know if they are correct and send any additions
using the SCC form? Just indicate that it's a second
transcription with an ST.
3. Christine is adding all the census images links to the
pages as well. When it's complete the buttons for archives,
online, index, etc will be links in the links column. Just
look around the state of Alabama, which is the only one that
is complete to get an idea of how the completed project
will look. <grin>BTW, the Kentucky SCC might want to
check real careful as Christine and I discovered that we
can't both work on one state at the same time. This
momentous discovery was in Kentucky.
4. I added signups for 1930 and will be putting up help pages
in the next few weeks.
