Greetings:
I am having no luck in finding out the maiden name of my ggg grandmother,
Margaret. Margaret was married to George Berry Cecil (my ggg grandfather).
They appear in the 1850 Newton Co., AR census and Margaret reappears in the
1860 Polk Co., AR census as living in Dallas (George dies in 1860). I am a
descendant of their daughter, Emeline.
In re-reading a copy of an article entitled "Old Dallas" which came out of a
book on Polk County history I read a quote by a Mrs. Anna Hudgins Randolph
who said that her grandfather was "Berry Cecil". Margaret and George Berry
Cecil have a 7 year old male child listed in the 1860 census as "B.H." or
"B.K." I am thinking that this possibly might be Berry Cecil and one of his
descendants could help me out with Margaret's maiden name.
I hope the above makes sense and someone can help me. Also I don't know
what happened to Margaret and the children after 1860.
Thank you.
