Seeking information on parents of my gggrandfather, Henry Tilford Cecil,
B-1828, VA. His father
was William P. Cecil, born abt. 1808 and resideded in VA. Wm. P.
m-Kitrice (not sure of spelling)
Napier (probably in VA).
Henry m-Martha Ann Carter in 1851 in Fountain County Ind., where they
resided until their death.
Not sure if Wm. P. remained in VA, or migrated with Henry. Have no other
data on this Wm. Cecil.
Would appreciate help on any of these family members.

I found those marriages in various Va. marriage record under various
variant spellings. Your line is very interesting. I would not waste my
money on the Witten/Cecil book cuz chances are great that you are not
from that line. Your line is completely unknown. Maybe the Joshua
Cecil, Gent.(wife Mary) who had twin sons Henry and Isaac born 4
Nov1696-supposedly his son Isaac moved to Westmoreland co. Va.by 1747
If I remember correctly Mr. Walter Ball's book has a couple of
paragraphs on this as does Elise Greenup Jourdan's -Early families of
Southern Maryland Vol. I pg. 51, 52, 53 and 54.
Caroline co. Va. court records pg. 386 13 Nov. 1736
It is ordered John Bushell pay Isaac Ciscell and Sarah his wife each 2
days attendance and coming and going each 10 miles twice. etc.

I pasted these from excel so they look rather strange.
Have you thought about joining rootsweb under the surname Cecil?
Melissa just started a group and it is interesting. I know people would
find your group of Cecils very interesting cuz Mr. Ball believed Joshua
might be a bro to William Cecil who most descend from.

I am looking for information about the family of my g.g.grandmother Mary
L. H. Cecil (b. 1813 in Virginia, possibly in Caroline County). She
married Thomas L. Jones on 12/22/1835 in Caroline County, and they lived
out their lives there (7 children listed so far). I think her mother
lived with them after 1850 (Elizabeth Cecil was listed in houshold, b.
1800) Thomas was born in New Jersey in 1812, probably near
Philadelphia. If anyone knows of these women Mary and Elizabath, please
contact me, and we can share information! Thank you for your time.
Other Cecils in the community with no confirmed connection:
Edmund, Phebe, Cathy, Sarah, William P., Isaac, Francis, James and John
Cecil. (Certain to be brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces
and nephews I believe)

all other variation.
These are some things I have sent to another person in the past on the
Caroline Co. Va. Cecils. It is really an unknown line to me. This line
could hold clues to the William line, though. Donna
