To my knowledge, this is not my line. My Cecil ancestors were possibly in
southern Md. in the 1600s and then migrated to the Eastern Shore of MD.
around St. Michaels, Cambridge, Denton, and then to Western MD, and finally
moved to the center of the state and settled in Lutherville, Baltimore Co.,
MD. I was born in Baltimore, MD, and my parents eventually built a house in
Reisterstown, Baltimore County, MD. We lived there from 1954 until the
property was sold in the 1980s, after my parents passed away. I now live in
Salisbury, MD, on the Eastern Shore of the state. I have a brother who lives
in southern MD, on the western shore of the state. I have lived in Salisbury
since graduating from college in 1970.
I don't know where my Cecil line originated prior to settling in southern
MD.
Best regards,
Barbara Cecil Renshaw

would love to share what you have on the Witten-Cecil connection. There was
so much intermarriage between the two families that I have a great deal of
difficulty sorting out who is who.
any email picture of individuals of the families would be most appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Phil Davidson,
an ancestor of both families
