"William's wife's name has not yet been determined but she died at an
apparently young age leaving John, Phillip, and a sister Susan at very
young ages. She was very concerned apparently that William wouldn't (or
couldn't)
care for the children so thaey were given formally at her request into
foster care with the family of Mareen Duvall the Elder a landed
gentleman of the
colony."
I'm just an interested bystander, but I think the fact that Mareen
Duvall agreed to
take the children is a STRONG clue as to the family of William Cecil's
unknown
wife. Mareen the elder was about the same age as she would have been
and may
well have been a brother. I cannot imagine him taking the children in
if they were not family.
Philip Cecil (son of William & ???) named his oldest child Susanna, his
sister was named
Susanna, Mareen Duvall, the elder had a sister named Susanna (according
to
www.familysearch.org). Susanna is a very Duvall name. Even the name
Philip is a bit French.
I think there is some thought that William Cecil's wife was "Mary", and
Mareen Duvall's
mother was Mary Booth. It's not inconceivable that William Cecil's wife
was Mary Duvall.
Just a thought!
