I think the sad thing that happens when we accept John Cecil born cir 1740
and living in the colonies and the John Cecil born cir 1740 to Wm. Cecil in
Great Britain as the same man is that we stop looking for proof that they
are the same man. Proof is finding the will or estate or deed in Great
Britain where Wm. states his son John in the Virginia colony or his son John
in the colony of MD gives power of attorney to sell the land of his father,
Wm in Great Britain. We are settling for less when we use a picture book
and consider it proof. Soon that "proof is posted all over the internet and
accepted as such when it does not exist. I believe the proof exists. We
know it is not in Prince George, Montgomery or Frederick co., MD or Mr. Ball
or Elise G. Jourdan would have found it in their extensive research but it
could exist in a deed or estate in PA, VA, DE or NY or other areas of MD.
Let's not accept less or we will stop looking. D

The Cecils of Hatfield House have never been proven to be ancestry of
American Cecils/Cissels. Many, many, find researchers have examined the
evidence
over decades with no proof found, so it would be better if this particular
exaggeration is laid to rest.
