HI Paul et al:
Thanks for your thoughts. We can spin this one around practically forever,
and never really know what happened. It is very, very frustrating.
My current thoughts:
William Cecil was a pirate, who sailed along the Chesapeake under the name of
"Blackbeard." When he was home, he pretended to be a mild-mannered tobacco
laborer. He was the one having an affair with Frances Stockett and Dr.
Richard Pile just covered up for them (See Daphne Du Maurier's book,
"Frenchman"s Creek") Frances was actually the mother of John, Phillip and
Susan. After Blackbeard's staged death, William went to the West Indies and
became the father of Alexander Hamilton. He then moved back to Virginia, and
bought a plantation under the name of "Jefferson." He ws actually Thomas
Jefferson's father.
I think that I've been doing genealogy too long!!!
Sheesh...I haven't even had anything to drink today!!!
Happy Labor Day to all and I'll get serious later!
Til later, Penny
