COLUMBUS CITY, Iowa -- Jack Cecil, 59, Columbus City, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his
home after a brief illness.
The Rev. Linda Baldwin will officiate the service. Casket bearers are Ken Meyerholz, Wayne
Finke, Mike Pugh, Butch Morgan, Don Fairlie, Sam Bell, Denny Pine and Bruce Lough.
Honorary casket bearers are Doug Pugh, Mark Pugh, Myron Frisk, Kenny Martin, Gene Helmig,
Denny Bell, Denny Bell, Denny Fritz, Roger Frisk and Dayle Frisk. Burial will be at the
Columbus City Cemetery.
Mr. Cecil was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Muscatine, the son of Clement Singleton and Marian
Jane Pugh Cecil. He married Vicki N. Frisk on June 16, 1965, in Columbus Junction.
He began working at Cecil's Standard Service Station in 1966 with his parents and
after the death of his father he took over and continued the business. Most recently, he
was the owner/operator of Cecil's Inc., a used car dealership in Columbus Junction.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and of several street rod clubs. He was
a member of Columbus City City Council for 29 years, a past president of the Columbus
Junction Jaycees and a member of the Friends of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Stephanie J. O'onner and husband John of
Riverside, Shari J. Wolfe of Columbus Junction and Samantha J. Cecil of Davenport; four
grandchildren, Jenna Wolfe, Addison O'Conner, Evan O'Conner and Clint
O'Conner; and a sister, Jill Cecil of Sterling, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
