Does a cousin have information on the parents of this James Wilford Cecil.
I don't seem to have that information. Please contact Marian direct, but
also post the answer to the list. Thanks.

Hi,
Saw your entry on RootsWeb. James Wilford Cecil is one of my ancestors,
through another daughter, Teresa. I'd love to have whatever you know on
them - I have very little, but here's what I know.
James Wilford Cecil, b. 27 Mar 1784, in ?, Maryland, married to Mary
Martin (b. 1 April 1790 in Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky) on 4 Sept.
1819 in Lexington, KY. He died 9 Feb 1878, in Woodville, Illinois. She
died 27 April 1867 also in Woodville. Their other daughter, Teresa was
born 10 May 1823, in Lexington, married Willam Lucas Cubbage (b. 18 July
1818 in ?, Indiana) on 24 Oct 1841 in Loraine, Adams Co., Illinois. She
died 8 Nov. 1902 in Loraine, and he died 19 Feb 1903 in Loraine.
One of their children, Frederick Cecil Cubbage, was my g'grandfather.
Anything you have on the Cecils farther back - I could use. Have you
heard the family legend that said the Cecils were related to the Lord
Calvert that was given Maryland as a land grant in the 1600? Haven't
been able to pin that down.
Thanks,
Marian Overstreet
