Toby, good morning, that's a very good question, and one to which I don't have an
answer. Samuel's second wife, Anna Rice (House, she was a widow when he married her)
survived him by 20 years, dying in 1884. She is buried with her daughter and son-in-law,
Catherine Cecil Baker and Charles Baker (my g-g-grandparents) at Sugar Loaf Mountain
Cemetery in Montgomery County, MD. Unless Samuel's tombstone is missing and
that's entirely possible for a small cemetery that may not have been the best
maintained over the years, or he didn't have one to start with, it's anyone's
guess as to where he is buried. My bet would be that he was buried wherever they lived in
1864. Charles Baker farmed in Montgomery County, I believe around the Clarksburg area;
that might be a good place to look. Have you seen Names In Stone?
That was where I originally found where their graves were. I wish I had more information
for you. Let me know if you find anything interesting.
