Hello "J" [ wish we had a whole name]
Your GGGranddad[?] B.A. Cecil-Stephens began with Samuel Cecil as the first generation.Did
he never have any info as to Sam's parents or other lineage---
such as these below? ....
Please note. There may also be inaccuracies in this report, especially as
pertains to the TWO generations between William Lord Burleigh's first son ,Thomas
Cecil, Earl Exeter, and William Sessell-Cecil,[1665-1749], a man of considerable mystery
,BUT fairly well documented as the father of John "Sessell" Cecil, father of
your Samuel [#1.]

Notes... **William Cecil, Lord Burghley married a second time and his son from that
marriage became the first Earl Salisbury, serving as prime Minister to Queen Eliz I, as
his father had done before him.
The Earldom later was elevated[ abt 1790] to Marquess Of Salisbury and the 4th Marquess,
James, was Prime Minister under Queen Victoria at the turn of the last Century. The
Cecils including the present Marquess , still live in part of historic Hatfield House in
Hertsfordshire, England. Part of the Grand old house is open to the public for tours.
Like Elinor Schaifer [ Hi Elinor! ]my husband Richard descends from Zachariah[5] and
Nancy Ingram.---in his case through their son Samuel [38] and Sarah Brown and their son
James Harvey [130] and Julia Ingram, who are Richard's great grandparents. Their
son Samuel Shelby Cecil and his wife Mary Cross Cecil were parents of my father-in-law
,Arthur Reagan Cecil ,[b. Oct 1886- Mt. Pleasant TN and
d. Jan 1969 in Florida.] I have a good amount of "downline" info if you would
like it.
