Your Elmer E. Cecil, I believe is, according to "300 Years of Cecil's in
America" by Alta Cecil Koch is Elmer Ellsworth Cecil, I have birthdate as
8-29-1889, (but I have found some errors in her book) d. 1969 married to
Sara Jane Jansen 6-25-1913. Elmer is son of John Wesley Cecil 9-19-1841 NC,
d. 2-12-1922 in Kansas City, MO, and Virginia Poe b. 1839 MO, d. 2-11-1913.
John Wesley is the son of William B. Cecil and Isabell Russel.. I see
William B, has a son Henry Clay d in MO 1943. So yes, I would say they are
related. I also have a daughter for Elmer and Sara, Mary Virginia Cecil, no
dates, but if you found this daughter with them in census, this is most
surely the correct Elmer Cecil. Let me know any other info you need, I have
the siblings of Elmer also. Linda

In September my husband and I took our first research trip...we went to
Nebraska
and Kansas. In the Indianola Cemetery in Indianola, Nebraska we
found (and photographed) a headstone for Elmer E. Cecil and his wife Sarah
J.
Elmer was born 1888, died 1968
Sarah J. was born 1884, died 1971
They were married June 25, 1913
Does anyone know who Elmer is? Who his parents were?
I have found them in the 1920 and 1930 census in Indianola and the census
states
that he was born in Missouri.
My husband has other family buried in that cemetery so I WANT Elmer to be
related
also!
My husband is Mervyn R. Cecil, s/o Lawrence Cecil, s/o Charles Ernest
Cecil, s/o Henry Austin Cecil, s/o Reuben Cecil, s/o Benjamin Cecil, etc.
Henry Austin's widow, Mary Ann, moved to Norton, Kansas following Henry's
death and eventually remarried to John Hunter. Her parents, Josiah Skidmore
Morris and Martha Twidwell Morris also moved to Norton some years earlier.
Norton is a delightful town with a fabulous library and a huge genealogy
room. We had a great time in the library and searching for cemeteries.
