Ok, I think I found the connection, I have
William b. 1755 m. Rachel Ball
son Benjamin b. 1790
son Reuban
I have no more info on Reuban, if this is your Reuban, I would love more
info.
Then we have:
William b. 1755
son John Ball Cecil b. 1785 m. Nancy Iiams, (John moved to MO when he was
70)
son William Ball Cecil b. 1813
son John Wesley b. 1841 (settled in MO)
son Elmer Ellsworth b. 1889
daughter Mary Virginia m. Unknown Miller
So looks like 1st cousins severel times removed. Alta's (author of book)
direct line came from MO and settled in Nebraska also. and she had extensive
research on this line, she concentrated on Cecil's from NC and all the areas
they branched out to. Linda

In September my husband and I took our first research trip...we went to
Nebraska
and Kansas. In the Indianola Cemetery in Indianola, Nebraska we
found (and photographed) a headstone for Elmer E. Cecil and his wife Sarah
J.
Elmer was born 1888, died 1968
Sarah J. was born 1884, died 1971
They were married June 25, 1913
Does anyone know who Elmer is? Who his parents were?
I have found them in the 1920 and 1930 census in Indianola and the census
states
that he was born in Missouri.
My husband has other family buried in that cemetery so I WANT Elmer to be
related
also!
My husband is Mervyn R. Cecil, s/o Lawrence Cecil, s/o Charles Ernest
Cecil, s/o Henry Austin Cecil, s/o Reuben Cecil, s/o Benjamin Cecil, etc.
Henry Austin's widow, Mary Ann, moved to Norton, Kansas following Henry's
death and eventually remarried to John Hunter. Her parents, Josiah Skidmore
Morris and Martha Twidwell Morris also moved to Norton some years earlier.
Norton is a delightful town with a fabulous library and a huge genealogy
room. We had a great time in the library and searching for cemeteries.
