Subject: Descendants of Mary Cecil I05737
I have just started researching my family history and don't as of
yet
have
GEDCOM software. My direct line to Mary Cecil is on my mother's
Charlton
side. My mother Patricia Jean Charlton (b. 24 OCT 1922) who married
Albert
Henry Moreau (b. 5 MAR 1923) was the third child of Collie Cecil
Charlton(b.
25 DEC 1888) and Ople Pansy Novinger(b. 1 APR 1894). Valerie
Juanita
Charlton (b. 21 DEC 1914) and Doris Marie Charlton (b. 20 AUG 1917)
were the
other children. Collie Cecil Charlton was the son of Francis Marion
Charlton (b. 11 MAY 1844) and Mary S. Charlton (b. 22 MAY 1852) (1st
cousins). They had 5 other children, Clarence H. (b. 9 MAY 1882),
Angus A.
(b. 1 AUG 1884), Lena May (b. 5 SEP 1886), Marion (b. 10 NOV 1890),
and Lura
I. (b. 2 AUG 1893). Francis Marion Charlton was the son of James
Perri
Charlton (b. 7 APR 1811) and Mary Cecil. They had 8 other children
of
whom
at this time I only have the names. Rufus, John R., William H.,
GeorgeW.,
Mary L., Jennie, Phebe, and Lee R. Mary S. Charlton (b. 22 MAY 1852)
was
the daugther of Davidson Charlton (b. 7 SEP 1798) and Catherine
Howery.
They had 9 other children; Milton (killed at Gettysburg), Pembroke,
Jim P.,
Chester, Dave L. (b. 3 OCT 1847), Charles, Nancy (b. 21 DEC 1833),
Ella (b.
1 OCT 1843), Kate (b. 25 SEP 1854). James Perri and Davidson
Charlton
were
the sons of John R. Charlton (b. 11NOV 1754) and Nancy McCarty (b. 24
NOV
1767)( according to our family records-some records show the name
changing
to Carter or Carty). They had 9 other children; Cynthia (b. 3 NOV
1787),
William Hervey (b. 3 NOV 1789), John R. (15 DEC 1791), Elizabeth (b.
18 MAY
1794), Anne (b. 24 FEB 1796), Sophia (b. 31 DEC 1800), Mary Ann (b.
23
MAR
1803), Arminda (b. 21 NOV 1808), and Charles (b. 4 JUL 1808). John
was the
son of John Charlton (b. 1720 according to family records 1729
according to
most internet records and came to the US in 1740) and Elizabeth
Robinson.
I work with Macs and haven't had the time to purchase software.
I
hope this
information helps. I will send you more when I get the software.
Sincerely,
John Moreau

Hi --
The message you submitted to this list (included above) wasn't
sent to the list subscribers. RootsWeb accepts only plain text
mail. That means that HTML mail, attachments, ``enriched text'',
and a few other formats can't be sent to RootsWeb mailing lists.
You can post your message if you send it in plain text; turn off
the ``Post in HTML'' or ``Enriched Text'' features of your mail
reader, or don't use any attachments. See
http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm for
instructions on turning off HTML in most of the popular mail
programs, or ask your ISP's technical support line for help.
We've had to institute this policy because of the problems that
accompany these fancy mail formats. Some people don't have mail
programs that are capable of processing the special file formats.
Even among those who do, different mail programs handle these
special formats in very different and confusing ways. HTML messages
pose special problems to our digested mailing lists. Most of all,
HTML-ified mail and attachments place a considerable burden on
RootsWeb's overworked machines. All in all, mail in this format
produces a lot of problems for RootsWeb's servers and subscribers,
so we find it's best just to use plain text.
