Subject: Cissell Family
Dear Melissa,
I have read several queries that you have posted and wondered if you could
help me. My g-g-grandmother, Mary M. Cecil, married William E. Bellew.
William was born in Marion Co., KY. The "History of Daviess County, KY"
also lists her as a Marion Co. native. They married in 1850. She was
supposedly born June 13, 1831 (listed in the History of Daviess Co.). The
problem that I am having is, locating the parents of Mary. I found a Mary
Magdalene Cissell who was the daughter of John B. Cissell and Eleanor
Spalding. I found this information at the Filson Club in Louisville, KY.
In a book, "Calvary Genealogy" she was listed as being baptized Aug. 8,
1830. A handwritten note below the entry stated to see the index b. 1831
(or 1831) (I didn't see this until I was home). Do you have any information
on this family? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Sue
Bellew-Berry
Can anyone help out Gloria below? I'm not sure my
George Washington Gibson is the same as hers.

I have been looking for my g-grandmother she was from KY. I just don't know
where. I don't know much about her. I understand she may have 3 sisters
Sarah , Sally, and Doshie. Her name was Mary, and somehow she was a distant
relative of Beatty Cecil that was a Judge in Scott Co TN. she did move to
Scott Co. and had nine children. She never married until 1919 to George
Gibson in Scott Co. she was born around the late 1860's or early 70's. She
was with a William Parker in 1910. and her first son belonged to a Clemmons.
and she had a son by a Walker Adcock. . Her children all went by Cecil. they
were Henry, Marshall, William, Maggie, Zona, Lillie and James.
If anyone has anything that would help me with finding her. Please let me
know.

Does any Cecil cousin on the list know of this family so as to help Gloria?

Dear List Members,
As most of you know by now, the GenConnect Boards have changed. Rootsweb.com
and Ancestry.com are continuing their merger and now have merged the
GenConnect Boards. I am not one to jump to conclusions quickly. I also did
not take care of any GenConnect Boards, which went by the wayside. If you
used one of these boards, now you know why they suddenly disappeared.
I know many of you have concerns regarding copyright laws and the
information you post to the boards and the mailing lists. The following was
posted by Rootsweb Management. "When you post messages to mailing lists,
message boards, and other facilities at RootsWeb, those posts remain your
property under copyright law." The same is true for those using the message
boards at Ancestry.com. In short, if you posted it, you own it." Don't
confuse this with owning information on your ancestors that is a matter of
public record-public records are just that-public.
If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you
need to do is visit Password Central located at
http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will
received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can
unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than
happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to
ask.
If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would
like to search.
Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of
virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements,
current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other
words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal.
There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of
us.
1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted,
please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you
post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is
hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the
list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it
stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to
look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once
in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go
on with what we all love, genealogical research.
2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it
might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has
the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is
searching for the information you are posting.
3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send
a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your
responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our
member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message
because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the
answers you are looking for.
4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also
one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire
list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will
help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the
entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a
member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you" and then
about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean
by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long
as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me.
(ma.da(a)gte.net)
5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any
attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are
taking a chance.
I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your
willingness to help make this list the success it is.
I thank Kathleen Burnett- List Mom VAKINGAN-L(a)rootsweb.com
(KathleenBurnett(a)earthlink.net) for allowing me to borrow some of her words.

Hi. Thank you for writing. Jack's father's name was Mat, he had several
siblings. I think Mat's father was Samue, who I believe married Mary
Davidson. Mat's wife was Zora and they had about 7 children. Any further
info
would be very much appreciated. Thanks again, Peggy

We are from a very large Cecil Family. Raised in Covington KY, but have
relatives in different areas of KY. My father was Jack Cecil, married to
Viola with many children. His siblings were Matt, Jr., Gene, Elbert Earl,
Pauline and Georgia. Can we be related? Do you have any info to share? Is
this the same family? Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.
