Wow, this is getting weirder all the time. My father is Stephen Cease, son
of Lysle W Cease the 1st (I am the 2nd). We have recently done some
searching and my father is probably the one that would have most of the info
you are looking for now. He recently sent me a picture from the late 1800's
that has his grandfathers family in it and I believe one of the mens name
was Herman Cease. Regardless, I am copying Herman Cease of Ohio who has
helped here as well as my father who may be able to bring light to your
searches as well.
I would appreciate you copying me on anything you find out. I have only
been able to go back as far as my grandfathers parents lineage in the mid
1800's. We are definitely for the same line!
Dad, Herman, can you guys help here. Looks like we found someone who has
the info on where we all ccame from!
Thank you so much,
Lysle W Cease II

Subject: Re: [CEASE] New to the list
I was hoping you could help me. I am researching Stephen Cease/Sease
who
was born around 1820. maybe older. He was married to alzada Woodard and
according to thier childrens death certificate, Stephen and Alzada was
born in new york and moved to Tioga County, Pa. They had a son Daniel
Andrew Sease/Cease born in 1849 and a daughter named Mary born 1846.
Stephen died prior to 1858 as Alzada remarried. I have searched
everywhere for Stephen Cease. The family name changes back and forth.
The
explaination was given by Daniel Andrew Cease when he applied for
Civil
War pension. He said he sometimes spelled it wrong and should be Sease.
His children used both spellings. One of his sons used Cease from Sease
as he was married before and divorced and the woman he wanted to marry
was catholic and would not marry a divorced man so he changed his name
to
Cease while his brother went by Sease. Any way I would be so glad to
find
anything on Stephen Sease/Cease. I hope you can help/.
