Good Morning (again),
Honestly, I will try not to send too many notes to you today! Read
them on your lunch hour--that is "our" best bet! :-)
I was thinking about you Barbara, and your father... and maybe he is one of
the children that was "tossed to the wind" because of my grandmother's
crime? Maybe your father Barb, was actually my grandmother's little
brother? (When I was young, someone told me that my grandmother was "raised
by wolves"! How mean. But, since her mother was in prison for so long,
there is a question regard-
ing who actually raised her.) As I told you yesterday, this subject was
extremely taboo. (It seems it was in your family too...).
Maybe this is the piece of the puzzle that has been missing. Your
missing link. (After all, it seems as though Adelbert just 'joined'
the family yesterday, until then, "he" was a "she". He became a new
piece to
this puzzle).
Here is the information: Adelbert married Nellie in 1896. She was
just 18. On my grandmother's Death Certificate, it states her name
as, Nellie Van Every Eighmey. I also have a "Funeral and Interment
Instructions" document, that states Nellie's last name as Van Every,
and her middle name as Eighmey.
(When I speak of my grandmother, I am referring to Irene, Adelbert
and Nellie's daughter, born 1901, in Warren Co., Pa.).
I was able to locate the cemetary they were burried in. It is in the
Myrtle Cemetary, in the town of Poland, N.Y..
Nellie and Adelbert divorced at some point. She married a man named
Peterson. (If you scroll down to the Peterson name, there you will
find her, burried with a son she had before the turn of the century.
It looks like that son used the name Peterson, but, kept the name
Cease, as a middle name? Very confused here).
Also, according to the cemetary records, it looks like Adelbert died
in a city named "Brokenstraw", in Warren Co., Pa..
Give me your thoughts Barb. If there is a site you can lead me to, I will
go there, since you are working.
Oh, I see you have sent me a message...Boy, we are bad. (Should I
send $ to your employer, for taking up so much of your time??
hee hee
Kathy
