"MR. CEARLOCK IS CALLED BY DEATH
Prominent Marlow Farmer Died of Influenza; Widow and Five Children Survive Him.
Funeral services for William Alfred Cearlock, 60, well-known Marlow farmer, were held
Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Cumberland Presbyterian church and were
conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. A. Brown. Mr. Cearlock died at 5:30 o'clock Thursday
afternoon, Feb. 21, in a local hospital after a week's illness of influenza.
He is survived by his widow and five children. Five children had preceded him in death.
A son, Harold Wayne, 11, died a little over a week before his father. The surviving
children are Mrs. J. D. Harrmire, Mrs. Frankie Parker, Miss Joyce Cearlock, Ray and
Carroll Swayne Cearlock. Three sisters also survive.
Mr. Cearlock was born in Cook county, Texas, December 23, 1875, and was 59 years, one
month and 29 days of age at the time of his death. He moved to Oklahoma 40 years ago, and
for the past 26 years had resided near Marlow. He united with the Cumberland Presbyterian
church at Clear Creek, 15 years ago. The family home is six and a half miles southwest of
here.
Interment was in the Marlow cemetery. Steele Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements."
