I have several additions and corrections to make to the articles titled "351 FAMILY
OF FREDERICK CARLOCK, SR. (1720- ?)," and "352 FAMILY OF GEORGE CARLOCK
(1740-1815)," which I originally submitted for publication approximately three years
ago to be included in the book "The Heritage of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina,
1763-2003," which has finally been published this year. Those articles appear on
pages 143 and 144 of the above-mentioned book. My additions and corrections will follow in
separate postings to the CARLOCK Message Board at the following site:

Subject: Old Mecklenburg County Heritage Book Project
Does anyone know if there is any way I can edit one of the articles which I submitted to
the Old Mecklenburg County Heritage Book Project a few years ago when they had their
original deadline? I have since discovered an error in that information which I would like
to correct before the book is published.

Subject: Mecklenburg County, NC, CARELOCK photographs and/or articles still needed
The Original Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Heritage Book Project has extended their
deadline for submitting articles to January 15, 2003. I did meet the original deadline and
submit two articles on the very early CARLOCK family of Mecklenburg Co., including some
information on the early CARELOCK family. I would urge anyone with information or
photographs of the more recent CARELOCK family in Mecklenburg County to submit either
photographs or an article to the project organizers. If you live in the area, you might
even want to attend one of the family history writing workshops, such as the one mentioned
below, sponsored by the project organizers. This is a wonderful opportunity to preserve
information about the CARELOCK family living in Mecklenburg County for future generations.
You do not necessarily need to be able to connect your Mecklenburg County CARELOCK family
to the early CARELOCK family in order to submit photographs and articles.

Subject: Past and present CARLOCK and CARELOCK families of Mecklenburg Co., NC
Following is the site describing the Original (formerly "Old") Mecklenburg
County Heritage Book Project 1763 - 2002:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncomchs/
As far as I can tell, no-one has yet submitted an article for the CARLOCK/CARELOCK family
of Mecklenburg Co., NC. I have not done enough original research on this subject to write
an article myself. If you have any expertise on the CARLOCK/CARELOCK family of Mecklenburg
Co., NC, either past or present, please consider submitting an article for this book. It
would be a shame not to have our CARLOCK/CARELOCK family represented in this book.
Articles are being accepted from both current and past residents of Mecklenburg Co., NC,
as well as anyone with ancestors who lived in Mecklenburg Co., NC. David CARLOCK's son
Frederick (b. 1720) migrated to Mecklenburg Co., NC, and is known to have CARELOCK
descendants still living in that area today. Articles are being sought for any generation
previously or presently living in Mecklenburg Co., NC.

Descendant of George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC, probable grandson of Frederick
